Forcom

Forcom

Forcom has built and operated in-store systems for European retail since 1991 and employs over 600 specialists working only on retail. Clients include Biedronka (3,900 stores, 30,000 checkouts), Rossmann (2,050 stores), Eurocash/Delikatesy Centrum (1,300 stores), LPP/Sinsay, Orlen (1,935 stations), Intermarché (410 stores), Media Expert (625 stores), Hebe (390 stores across PL, CZ and SK), Leroy Merlin, E.Leclerc and PoloMarket.

Live in 16 countries, 50,000+ checkouts running Forcom's POS, 20 million loyalty accounts under management, 9 million transactions a day at peak and 1.3 billion card payments processed a year. The promotion engine, Basket Calculator, performs 60 million calculations a day at under 50ms each, with 10,000 promotions running concurrently, a million offers activated daily and 1.5 billion personalized offers delivered a month.

In-store retail media is measured in exposure: screens, audio, sensors. Forcom sits one step further along the same journey - the point where a promoted offer is applied to a basket and recorded against an identified customer. For a Footprints AI deployment, this means an offer surfaced in-store can be executed at the checkout and evaluated as sales rather than reach. It is built for chains with high transaction frequency and complex promotional mechanics, including groups of independently owned stores where a centrally funded campaign is settled back to the individual store owner automatically.

Capabilities

  • Real-time basket recalculation at the checkout in under 50ms (Perspectiv Basket Calculator), with 10,000 promotions running concurrently and no added latency at the scanner
  • Loyalty identity and golden-record management (Perspectiv), including recognising a customer by hashed payment card without a physical loyalty card
  • Personalised offer delivery at scale: 1.5 billion personalised offers a month and a million offers activated daily
  • Automatic settlement of centrally funded promotions back to independently owned stores
  • Central management of shelf-edge pricing and promotional messaging across paper labels and ESL (Price Label Management), vendor-agnostic on ESL hardware
  • Basket-level transaction and redemption data made available to the retailer for closed-loop measurement

Best for

Retail chains from roughly 100 stores upwards with high transaction frequency and complex promotional mechanics, including groups of independently owned stores that need central campaigns settled back to individual owners.

Retail media use cases supported

  • Redemption of a promoted offer at the point of sale, applied to the basket in real time.
  • Closed-loop measurement: connecting a campaign to actual basket-level sales and to the customers who redeemed, rather than to exposure.
  • Personalized offer delivery to identified loyalty members, consistent across store, e-commerce and app.
  • The shelf edge as a campaign surface: promotional messaging on paper labels and ESL, changed centrally across the estate.
  • Settlement of brand-funded or centrally funded promotions back to independently owned stores.
  • Basket-level transaction and redemption data delivered to the retailer for audience building and post-campaign analysis.
  • Screen content management, playout scheduling or proof-of-play.
  • Ad serving, DSP/SSP, programmatic buying or inventory yield management.
  • Creative production or dynamic creative optimization.
  • Audience marketplaces, or selling shopper data to brands.
  • Footfall, dwell time or camera- and sensor-based in-store measurement.
  • The consumer-facing mobile app itself (Forcom provides the APIs and data, not the app front end).

Technical requirements

Deployed inside the retailer's own infrastructure (on-premise or retailer's cloud tenant) - not shared multi-tenant SaaS. Integration with Footprints AI would run over REST API in both directions (campaign/offer definitions inbound, redemption/basket events outbound). No POS replacement required - the existing POS calls an external promotion engine at scan time, or runs Forcom's checkout client. Works with the retailer's existing ESL hardware, vendor-agnostic. No hardware supplied by Forcom for this integration.

Availability

Live in 16 countries, mainly CEE, DACH and Western Europe, with one retailer running the same promotion logic across 14 of them. No geographic restriction on new markets; language, tax and fiscal localization handled per market at implementation.

Support model

Partner-led L1/L2/L3 by Forcom for Forcom components, with joint escalation to Footprints AI for anything on the integration boundary. Support hours, response and resolution times are agreed per contract; grocery-scale production deployments are covered outside business hours.

Data exchange

No personal data is transferred to Footprints AI. The customer golden record sits inside Perspectiv, deployed in the retailer's own infrastructure, with the retailer as data controller. Any future exchange would be limited to pseudonymized or aggregated data (offers and redemptions), and only with the retailer's approval.

Documentation

API reference and integration guide exist, shared under NDA during technical evaluation.
